This round metal biscuit tray features a jolly Santa standing beside a bright red vintage car piled high with toys, all against a snowy winter landscape.
The border is a vivid Christmas red sprinkled with graphic white snowflakes, so the whole tray feels like a classic 1980s holiday card brought to life. It’s the kind of cheerful, slightly nostalgic design that instantly says “Christmas at home.”
📐 The tray measures about 13 ¾ inches in diameter (35 cm in diameter) and is roughly ⅝ inch tall (1.6 cm tall), with a gentle lip that’s perfect for holding cookies, mugs, or small decorations.
The underside shows the original paper label: "Star" (Imported by Star, Toronto, Canada – Made in China).
The metal is sturdy but not heavy, just like the classic biscuit and cookie tins from the late 20th century.
✔️This tray is in very good vintage condition. The colors are still bright and festive, and the scene prints beautifully in photos. There are light surface marks and a few small scratches on the rim from normal use and storage (see close-up photos), but no major dents or bends and it sits flat on a table.
The wear gives it that authentic, much-loved holiday look without taking away from the charm of the design.
📜 In the late 1970s and 1980s, many Canadian import companies commissioned Christmas tins and trays from factories in Asia. They were sold in department stores and drugstores, often filled with cookies or chocolates for the season. The Star label on the back is from a Toronto-based importer that brought in toys and household items made in China; their name appears on vintage wooden toy cars and children’s baking sets from the same era, also marked “Imported by STAR, Toronto – Made in China.” These pieces turn up today as fun, affordable collectibles for people who love 80s and 90s nostalgia.
