A wonderful 1997 ABBA coffee-table book

💗 This beautiful large-format hardcover combines Agnetha's story with lots of photographs from her career and the ABBA years.
With its almost-square shape, striking pink, white and black cover and photo-filled pages, it is a lovely book to leave displayed on a coffee table, office shelf, music room or entertainment area.
📜 About the book
Rather than being simply another biography written about ABBA, As I Am was created around Agnetha Fältskog telling her own story.
According to the original dust-jacket flaps, the book follows her life from her early career as a teenager in Sweden through touring Europe, the phenomenal ABBA years, Eurovision, concerts, hit records, television appearances, fans and enormous media attention.
It also looks at the more personal side of that experience . Marriage, children, the good and difficult periods of fame, the pressures surrounding ABBA's later years, her solo career and her eventual decision to step away from the spotlight.
The book was written with Swedish journalist, writer and television producer Brita Åhman, who had known Agnetha personally and helped her put the story together.
🎶 A little ABBA history
ABBA grew out of four already-established Swedish musicians: Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.
The name ABBA comes from the first letters of their names.
Agnetha and Frida became the group's distinctive principal female vocalists, while Björn and Benny formed the songwriting and production partnership behind much of ABBA's music.
Their international breakthrough came when “Waterloo” won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, beginning an extraordinary period of worldwide success that produced songs including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Fernando and many others.
ABBA became one of the defining pop groups of the 1970s, and their music has remained remarkably popular across generations. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
🤍 This would make such a nice gift for an ABBA or Agnetha Fältskog fan, but it is equally appealing as a decorative vintage music book.
It is a fun book for entertaining guests to pick up and browse, with plenty of photographs and ABBA history inside, and it looks beautiful displayed in a living room, music room or office.

✔️ Condition
Good used vintage condition.
The hardcover itself, internal covers and all of the pages are in excellent condition.
- The visible signs of age and use are mainly on the dust jacket. There is a small tear that was repaired with tape from the inside of the jacket, a small dot/spot mark, light wear to one corner, some light surface rubbing/scuffing and mild yellowing from age.
Please check all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition description.
