This vintage hand-carved Sheesham wood box was crafted by skilled Indian artisans from Dalbergia sissoo (“North Indian rosewood”), prized for its warm grain and durability.

📜 Sheesham’s Story: Native to the Indian subcontinent, Shisham (or Dalbergia sissoo) has been the backbone of Himalayan woodworking for centuries—its fast growth and fine grain making it ideal for everything from palace furniture to humble trinket boxes.

Here, artisans carved winding floral vines into every face, then inlaid light wood pinwheels and fine lines atop the lid and brass at the sides, marrying tradition and elegance.

Pull out the lid and you’ll find three compartments lined with soft, faded purple fabric (the dividers are fully removable!), perfect for rings, earrings, office supplies, business cards, or incense. From the brass handles on either side to the smooth interior, every detail whispers “one-of-a-kind.”
