Hey ceramic lovers and vintage voyagers, meet your new Delft buddies! 😊
This dynamic duo features a delicate footed egg cup and a miniature windmill plate, both hand-painted in that dreamy blue-and-white palette that made Delftware famous.
📜 Born in 17th-century Holland’s Golden Age, Delft blue pottery was inspired by Chinese porcelain. Artisans in Delft perfected tin-glazing techniques to craft those iconic blue landscapes. By the mid-20th century, charming household pieces like egg cups and trinket dishes became beloved souvenirs sold along canal-side markets.
📐 Egg Cup: approx 3″ tall (7.6 cm) × 1 ⅞″ wide (4.8 cm). Perfect for eggs, toothpicks, matches, or sweet mini blooms!
📐 Windmill Plate: approx 4 ½″ diameter (11.4 cm) × ½″ tall (1.3 cm). Ideal as a tiny trinket or soap dish, with built-in holes for wall hanging.
✔️ The egg cup is in fair condition. It shows gentle crazing and surface cracks from decades of use—no chips, still sturdy and oh-so charming.
The plate, likely from the 1970s, is in excellent condition. It shines with crisp hand-painted lines, and the back has faint yellow stains.
Together, they’re a match made in Dutch heaven!
Whether you’re styling a kitchen shelf, curating a vintage vignette, or gifting a boho friend, these Delft Blue pieces bring story, soul, and timeless style to any décor.
