Crafted in lead crystal (24 % PbO) under the Imperlux label, this candy dish feels substantial, yet its airy, natural design makes it seem light to our eyes.
📜 Imperlux began life in 1950s West Germany as a signature line of fine lead crystal—crafted in family‐run glasshouses across Bavaria and Thuringia, where master cutters honed those deep grooves and petal-like flutes that made the brand famous. By the late 1960s, Imperlux granted licensing agreements to select Yugoslavian factories (notably in the Titovo Užice and Rogaška Slatina regions) so that its hallmark designs—24 % PbO brilliance, sculptural relief cuts, and hand-polished rims—could also be produced closer to Eastern European markets. Pieces bearing a “Made in Yugoslavia” Imperlux label share the same Germanic design DNA but were blown, cut, and finished by skilled artisans under Imperlux’s watchful standards. Our elegant Bomboniere likely dates to that spirited overlap era—circa 1965–1975—when Imperlux crystal united West German craftsmanship with Yugoslavian production flair.
📐 Measuring approximately 22 cm (8 ¾ in) tall with lid on, and spanning about 18 cm (7 in) across at its widest, it weighs in at a hearty 1.6 kg
✔️ This stunner is in good vintage shape: no hairline cracks, no missing chunks, but do note two tiny chips inside the lid (invisible when closed) and the usual patina of fine surface scratches and light wear that only deepen its character. During the manufacturing, a couple of little pieces of dust went inside the glass (very common in glass fabrication). Please check the photos. No original label on it.
