Born in the rugged beauty of Collingwood, Ontario, Blue Mountain Pottery ran from 1947 to 2004 and became world-famous for its volcanic-inspired drip glazes. By the 1970s, these cobalt masterpieces were gracing kitchens from coast to coast, embodying that optimistic post-war spirit and the playful experimentation of Mid-Century Modern design. Each piece was hand made from locally quarried clay, then dipped and fired until the glaze bloomed in unpredictable patterns—just like the Northern Lights dancing across a winter sky.
