Produced in the early 1980s as part of the Aristocrats lamp collection under licence from Walt Disney Productions.
The moulded vinyl figure depicts Minnie in a pink blouse with a matching bow, black trousers and pink with yellow shoes.
She’s holding a basket in one gloved hand and stands in front of a teal suitcase, ready for a day of travel or shopping.
The base is cream‑colored plastic textured like wood and stamped “Walt Disney Productions – Aristocrats – Lamp.”
📜 Who made it? – In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Animal Toys Plus Inc. of New York produced a series of licensed Disney character banks in vinyl. Using those similar character moulds, Aristocrats (a company specialising in novelty home lighting) created a short‑lived series of table lamps for Walt Disney Productions. These lamps are rarer than the coin banks and were never widely exported, which is why they’re hard to find today.
🤍 The lamp features a white pleated fabric shade that attaches with an UNO fitter – no harp needed – making it easy to replace if you prefer a different look.
🤍 The metal stem is painted ivory, and the on/off switch is conveniently located below the bulb socket.
🤍 A standard E26 medium‑base bulb (not included) provides illumination.
🤍 The power cord is a cream‑coloured two‑prong plug measuring about 54 inches long (137 cm).
🤍 The Minnie Mouse figure itself is not glued to the base, but the weight and design keep it stable.
📐 Measurements – With the shade attached the lamp stands about 19 inches (48 cm) tall. The shade measures approximately 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Without the shade the figure and base are about 14½ inches (36.8 cm) tall. The round base measures roughly 5¼ inches (13.3 cm) in diameter. Weight is around 670 g (1.48 lb).
✔️ Condition – Good vintage condition with honest signs of age. The vinyl figure is still colorful, with only minor discoloration. The cream base has yellowed from sunlight over the decades. The pleated shade is worn: the inner plastic lining shows tears and some sections of the outer fabric are misshapen (see photos); it is still usable, but could be replaced for a cleaner look, if you want. The two‑prong plug has a slight bend typical of vintage cords.
This rare Minnie Mouse lamp makes an imaginative accent for a child’s bedroom, a mid‑century cartoon collection or a Disney‑themed office.
