đ§đŚ This charming ceramic canister transports you straight to Grandmaâs kitchen.
Made in the 1970s, itâs moulded from stoneware and glazed to a glossy finish both inside and out.
The front features a whimsical transfer image of a little boy and girl in wide straw hats peeking over a picket fence â a style reminiscent of the âHolly Hobbieâ and sunbonnet motifs that were popular in the late â60s and â70s.
Two loop handles and vertical ribbing give the jar a cottagecore vibe, and the domed lid has a little knob for easy lifting.
This unmarked jar was likely made by one of the many Japanese or Californian potteries supplying department stores in the 1970s; similar forms were imported under names like Sears, Hallmark or Napco.
It holds plenty of cookies or tea bags without taking up too much counter space, making it a sweet addition to a countryâstyle kitchen or craft room.
đ Size â This jar stands about 7½ inches tall with the lid (19.1 cm) and 5½ inches without (14 cm). From handle to handle it measures about 7 inches wide (17.8 cm), and the body is roughly 5½ inches in diameter (14 cm). The weight is around 997 g (2.2 lb), so itâs sturdy but easy to move.
âď¸ Condition â Very good vintage condition for its age. The glaze is bright and intact with no cracks. There is a small chip on the edge of the lid and a beginning of crazing outside only and around the base, which is typical of older highâgloss glazes and doesnât affect use. Please examine the photos for details.
This adorable treat jar is the perfect size for cookies, sewing notions or dog treats.
