Reactive glazing began in mid‑20th‑century pottery, when artists discovered that by layering metallic oxides—like iron, copper, or cobalt—onto their glazes, they could harness the unpredictable magic of kiln chemistry.
Each firing is an experiment in artistry: textures melt, shift, and bubble, resulting in those gorgeous mottles and speckled imperfections that make every piece a tiny work of art.
