“Bisque” (also called biscuit) is pottery that’s been fired but left unglazed; when it’s a fine white body, it’s widely known as bisque porcelain. The finish is matte, tactile, and famously resembles smoothed marble—perfect for figurines and decorative sculpture.
In the craft world, ready-to-paint bisque is kiln-fired to a sturdy “cone 04” body so it accepts acrylics or glazes beautifully if you want to decorate it later.
