Włocławek Porcelana – Set of 3 Green Floral Rim Soup/Salad Plates | Fine Porcelain c.1967
💚 Emerald-green florals, creamy white glaze, and that elegant scalloped rim.
This set of three vintage Włocławek Porcelana plates brings classic Central-European charm to the table.
The pattern is a transfer-printed green floral and scroll border (roses, leaves, and ribbon motifs) framing a clean well: refined enough for display, sturdy enough for daily use.
📐 Dimensions (each plate)
• diameter 9 in / 22.9 cm
• height 1¼ in / 3.2 cm (deep enough for soup, salads, pasta)
✔️ Good vintage condition overall with light use marks consistent with age. One plate has a tiny rim chip; another shows two tiny rim chips; the third has a slightly darker foot/bottom. No cracks or crazing on them. Normal traces from manufacturing; glossy and lovely on the table.
💚 The green backstamp reads “Włocławek Porcelana – Made in Poland” with a stylized plant emblem. This mark format is documented as the porcelain mark used from about 1967 onward, placing your set in the late 1960s–1970s period.
📜 Ceramics in Włocławek (Kuyavia region) trace back to 1873, when the first faience factory was established by local entrepreneurs (including Zygmunt Kühfeld and Dawid Czamański). In the late 19th–early 20th century, notable owners included Teichfeld & Asterblum. After WWII, Poland nationalized the plants; by 1973, the local faience, porcelit, and porcelain works were reorganized under Włocławskie Zakłady Ceramiki Stołowej (Włocławek Tableware Ceramics Works). Production of Włocławek wares became a symbol of Polish postwar design, with hand-painted faience enjoying a major revival in the 1970s–80s; industrial changes led to a decline around 1990, with later revivals by private initiatives continuing the tradition.
💚 The green-on-white palette feels fresh year-round—perfect for spring tables, cottage-garden themes, or holiday greens.
The 1¼-inch / 3.2-cm depth is practical (think soup, risotto, salads, stews), while the 9-inch / 23-cm size also works as a dinner plate for smaller portions.
Mix with white china, vintage transferware, or modern stoneware for an eclectic table.
Care & use
Vintage porcelain is happiest with gentle care. Hand-washing is recommended to preserve the transfer print and glaze.
