💛 Such a wonderfully cheerful piece of Dutch folk-inspired decor — a full-size pair of vintage wooden Dutch clogs, traditionally known as klompen, finished in bright yellow with wonderfully simple red and black painted detailing.
Unlike the tiny souvenir clogs often found today, these have real presence. Each wooden shoe measures approximately 10 inches long, with a substantial solid-wood construction and a naturally hollowed interior. Their bold yellow colour and almost graphic red-and-black decoration make them especially fun for a shelf, entryway, kitchen, collector’s cabinet, Dutch heritage display or eclectic folk-art interior.
The clogs are carved from solid wood, with the natural unfinished wood still visible inside. The simple black linear decoration and red triangular accents appear hand painted, and the small differences between the two shoes give the pair plenty of character.
📜 A little history
Traditional Dutch wooden shoes are called klompen. Wooden footwear has a very long history in the Netherlands, and by the early modern period clogs had become practical everyday footwear because they were inexpensive, durable and well suited to rural work. Different regions developed their own recognizable shapes, and painted or decorated clogs also became part of Dutch folk tradition.

Combined weight: approximately 1.52 lb / 690 g
The proportions suggest a smaller adult-size or women’s-style pair, and a US size 5–6 was considered when they were measured. However, that size has not been verified, so these are being offered as decorative collectibles rather than wearable footwear.
✔️ Condition
Good vintage/display condition with visible signs of age and use. There are surface scratches, scuffs, small marks, paint wear and areas of loss, particularly around the toes and edges. The natural wood interiors show age-related marks, discoloration and wear.
There is a superficial natural crack on the left clog and a small crack on the right clog, as shown in the photographs. Additional small imperfections and irregularities in the wood and painted finish are also visible. These authentic blemishes have intentionally not been disguised in the photos.
